Like many expats may know and experience on their own skin, making new friends in Berlin, keeping old relationships alive, and networking, in general, is hard (work). This pop-up exhibition at Rosengarten Kulturpavillon presents five international artists and their five friendship stories brought together by Eva, the curator of the show. Reflecting upon the commonly hidden and not talked about notion of close relations among creatives in the art world, the exhibition takes a step into the “real world”, into everyday life where our personal relationships reside. Here, networking, meeting people, and becoming close with them is (also) a way of working, where we share, support, and coexist together. Through major (spatial) and minor interventions, performances, participatory events & video work, artists delve into various aspects of keeping something away, secret, absent, not present anymore, kept behind closed doors, or just not talked about (enough).
